Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions will showcase its innovations for the battery market at E-Tech Europe 2025. At the trade show which takes place on April 15 and 16, 2025, in Bologna, Italy, Pfeiffer will present vacuum and leak detection solutions tailored to the production of batteries for electric vehicles.
A test setup consisting of the oil-free HiScroll 46 scroll vacuum pump and the modular, integrated tracer gas leak detector ASI 35 will be exhibited. With this system, leak-tight battery cell housings are ensured, preventing moisture ingress and safeguarding performance. Even the smallest leaks can compromise safety, making their precise detection essential. Designed for high-volume production, this combination enables fast and precise leak testing with short cycle times, ensuring high throughput while maintaining quality and reducing operational costs.
State-of-the-art mass spectrometer for gas analysis
The compact, portable benchtop OmniStar GSD 350 mass spectrometer provides fast, reliable and precise measurements of non-condensable gases at or below atmospheric pressure. The gas analysis system – which will also be presented at the trade show booth – offers a perfect solution for measuring gas transfer characteristics, such as a leaking electrolyte from the interior of the finalized product. The PV MassSpec software supports qualitative and quantitative analysis, covering mass ranges from 1 to 300 u.
